To do this we used photoshop which we have previously used as practice. We used images which we found on google, then using tools to give them separate layers and to cut around the shapes. This poster will enable additional publicity and therefore allowing more people to have an insight into the film which is targeted to their appropriate age. The tied up hands are in black and white to symbolise death, as well as the flashback which is shown in our opening title sequence. The red signifies danger which will arise. The rule of thirds has clearly been shown in our poster and we thought about it when creating it as a group. The majority of the tied up hands is in a third in the right top corner to indicate that someone has been 'snatched' and therefore it has a relevance to be there as it gives clues about the narrative. The title is in the centre of the middle row of thirds because this is probably the second object the viewer looks at after the hands because they are both quite bold to the eye. The certified age has its own third to highlight the severity of what will occur e.g. death which is hinted by the splatter of blood on the boarder of the poster, also indicating that the film is appropriate for teenagers. To improve this we could have used our actors hands instead of getting an image from google to create more realism.
Additionally, as well as a poster designed to attract our primary audience, we created a secondary poster for the ages of 19-30. This is because every film has more than one audience although the target audience is the most popular. The poster that we made is more sophisticated looking and therefore is more appropriate for an older age group to attract to this poster. The background image that we used in taken from the location from which we filmed in. The Polaroids draw the viewers eye immediately and the effect of the fallen images make the viewer curious. The primary audience poster looks more child like, compared to this one where we used the real setting and a different font. We still used a red tide to provoke danger which will arise in our film.
SCREEN GRABS FROM OUR FILM ON HOW IT WILL APPEAL TO OUR AUDIENCES:
ACRESS:
MUSIC:
The music we selected would also attract our target audience because when doing research into what our target audience likes, we found that they liked music which is suspenseful In order to fulfil this we used non diegetic music which reflects this. The music that we used fitted our narrative as it was either at a fast pace to demonstrate tension, or at a slow rhythm to build up climax.
ACTOR:
The actor that we used was tall, masculine, strong and this could appeal to the females of our target audience. As well as this, his identity is mostly hidden making it mysterious because the viewers cant properly see who has kidnapped Lucy making them want to watch further incase they do find out.
LOCATION:
MISE-EN-SEEN:
Make up was a key feature in our film because it was important that we made Lucy look like she has been through hell. This make up would appeal to our audience because it looks realistic and therefore the kidnapping wouldn't look fake making the viewers want to carry on watching. Props which we used such a Calander would appeal to our audience because because this isn't a generic convention of a thriller and hence make the audience curious as its purpose to the film.
