Introducing myself 

I am Mia Ami Grundman and i am currently 16 years old.

I'm a student at JFS, studying Media studies as one of my a levels. I have chosen to do this as one of my 4 subjects because i am very passionate about the film industry and i am looking forward to learn at how films are produced. As well as this, by choosing this subject it will allow me to learn how to use cameras when filming. Also, to understand the specific effects and sounds for a certain genre to target a specific audience.

My favourite genre is horror/ thriller because its more exciting to watch, compared to a romantic film The suspense that is shown throughout makes it more thrilling and brings more of a climax and therefore makes you want to carry on watching the film. A horror film can also been seen as mysterious as anything sudden can happen, so the unexpected of the film is expected. An example of a film like this is HUSH. The characters and the sounds allow this film to be frightening because of the build up of what is going to happen.  I also like the adrenaline that rushes through your body, whilst your heart is beating very fast and the anticipation that is being created.

As well as watching horror films i am also fascinated by TV series, which involve drama and crime. Grey's Anatomy allows me to feel connected with all the characters and  is extremely addictive.


I enjoy a wide variety of music genres such as, pop, rap and classical music. However, my main area would be pop due to the popularity of the artists to modern day. Examples of this is Justin Bieber who has recently released a single called 'Cold Water'. Music is part of my everyday life because it is a relaxing thing to do and allow me to feel connected with the lyrics.
