Lip syncing exercise
Our task for this prelim was used using an iPhone app "video star" with a limited range of songs available to us. We chose to do "shape of you" by Ed Sheran because it is a popular song, can be easily be perfomed as lyrics can we easily sung due to the poplualirty of it and therefore lip syncing will not be difficult. Although it was easy to know the words the song as some fast pace to it so in some parts it was difficult to keep up to the beat in time. The various different effects used throughout enabled effect and can match the narrative. For example, when the lyrics were about kissing, love or a relationship there were heart effetts. Therefore it was relevant to use the app because the video related to the naative making the audience more drawn to the video.
If we were to redo our prelim task we would plan in advance to make sure everything was more organised For example, actors, location, instruments. it is obvious we didn't think much into actors because the song is by someone male, whereas we had female actors making it less realistic. Also, Ed shorn used a guitar and we didn't have this in our prelim video. Also, we didn't do a full music video with the whole length due to our limited time. Hence, for our real music video we will plan much more in advance to make sure everything is organised .
This was our first attempt and it was quite successful with the outcome having clear, cut to the beat, actions match visuals etc. By doing this is has allowed us to see what is needed in a music video and what we would need to improve on to have a music video that can be the best it can be.
